Meals that taste like the place they come from

One of the great pleasures of staying at Sunhi-Vista is having access to fresh local ingredients and the freedom to prepare your own meals whenever you like.

Every accommodation features a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, stovetop, coffee maker, food processor, cooking utensils, and a large refrigerator with freezer compartment. Whether you're preparing a simple breakfast, a family dinner, or fresh seafood from the Pacific, you'll find everything you need.

We recommend doing your main grocery shopping before arriving in Torio. About one hour from Sunhi-Vista, along the road from Highway 1, you'll find a large Super Carne supermarket with an excellent selection of groceries, fresh produce, meat, dairy products, beverages, and household essentials. It is the best place to stock up before reaching the coast.

During your stay, the nearby town of Mariato offers two supermarkets for everyday shopping, as well as a large fruit and vegetable stand directly across the street where you can find fresh local produce and seasonal tropical fruits.

The Pacific Ocean provides some of the freshest seafood in Panama. Fresh fish can often be purchased directly from local fishermen at the harbor in Palo Seco, where the daily catch varies with the season and the sea.

Fresh artisan bread is available in Torio several times per week. Guests can pre-order sourdough bread from Nora and Nordic-style breads from Broed Bakery via Instagram and collect them locally when available.

If you prefer to dine out, Torio offers a surprisingly diverse culinary scene for such a small coastal community. From freshly caught seafood and Asian-inspired dishes to pizza, Tex-Mex cuisine, and local Panamanian favorites, there is something for every taste.

Some of our favorite local spots include La Clandestina, Pizza and Love, Olé Tex-Mex, Los Pinos de Torio, and El Pargo Rojo.
